Programme Lead, Whakamana Rangatahi
TRM Training – Wainuiomata / Lower Hutt
Full-time (40h hours) | Fixed-Term Contract
TRM Training is a kaupapa Māori social services organisation supporting rangatahi and whānau to strengthen wellbeing, confidence, and pathways into education, training, and employment. We are seeking a Programme Lead (Female/Wahine) to support and facilitate our wahine-only rangatahi programme.
This role is female-specific due to the nature of the programme and the need to provide a safe and appropriate environment for our tauira.
This role sits at the heart of our organisation. You will support rangatahi wāhine through kaupapa-based learning, wellbeing support, and group facilitation, helping to create safe, empowering, and structured spaces where they can grow in confidence and capability.
You do not need to be Māori, but you must be kaupapa Māori aligned, respectful of tikanga, and willing to learn.
Facilitate and support wahine-only rangatahi programmes in a calm, confident, and engaging way
Build trusting relationships with rangatahi wāhine, whānau, and kaimahi
Provide pastoral care and emotional support using safe and appropriate boundaries
Support programme planning, delivery, and reflection
Support attendance, engagement, and individual goal setting
Transport rangatahi wāhine when required (programmes, activities, hīkoi)
Work collaboratively within a wahine-focused and wider TRM team
You will bring:
Proven experience working with rangatahi, particularly rangatahi wāhine, in youth, education, or community settings
Confidence facilitating group-based programmes
Strong alignment with kaupapa Māori values (aroha, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, tika, pono)
A genuine willingness to learn and reflect
A calm, nurturing, and consistent approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Wahine applicant (due to the nature of the programme and safe practice requirements)
Full, clean driver licence
Clean Police Vetting Results
Experience working with rangatahi
Comfortable leading and supporting group facilitation
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold safe practice
Experience working in Rangatahi/youth
Youth work, education, or social services qualifications
Trauma-informed practice experience
Experience in kaupapa Māori or community-led environments
Supportive, whānau-centred workplace
Values-led kaupapa Māori environment
