TERM 3 STARTING MONDAY 14th July 2025
Our name, "Te Rito Maioha," has its roots in our early days of teaching raranga at Te whare o Bubby Turner in Wainuiomata Marae back in 2019.
"Rito" is derived from the harakeke plant, a material integral to our daily activities at Wainuiomata Marae. The term "rito" refers to the central shoot of the harakeke plant, and there's a belief that harvesting it may harm the plant unless it's nourished properly.
"Maioha," meaning appreciate, is a fitting addition to our name as it reinforces our deep connection and appreciation for the significance of our student, our "rito."
TRM Training is located at Wainuiomata Marae.
