TERM 3 STARTING MONDAY 14th July 2025
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Whakamana Rangatahi is all about nurturing our Rangatahi in a holistic way, supporting all four pillars of the Whare Tapa Whā model. We've partnered with Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi to offer a Level 4 certificate in Te Pouhono ki Toi, reconnecting Rangatahi with te ao Māori. Additionally, we’ve teamed up with Coastguard NZ to provide an in-water survival certificate, and Rangatahi can also earn a Level 1 St John First Aid certificate and Driver's License. Furthermore, this program focuses on building confidence within our Rangatahi, equipping them with the skills and support needed to become employable or pursue further training opportunities.
GUARDIANS OF THE ENVIRONMENT.
Kaitiaki o te Taiao (Guardians of the Environment) is an exciting education pathway we've developed in partnership with Landbased Training. Through this program, Rangatahi can earn a Level 3 qualification in horticulture, empowering them to care for the environment while gaining valuable skills.
PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT
We've partnered with MSD to launch Whakamana Mahi, a program specifically designed to support Rangatahi beneficiaries by guiding them towards sustainable employment. Currently, this program operates through a referral system for clients based in the Wainuiomata region.
