Climate Conversations

Cross-generational Transy Community Discussion group

The Climate Conversations group meets twice a month over zoom on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:15 on the dates listed below. Participants include students, some of whom are taking the class for credit, faculty, staff, administrators, and members of our Board of Trustees and Board of Regents. This level of cross-generational engagement was wonderful last year and, I believe, is deeply important for building meaningful connections within our Transy community.

We discuss a variety of short readings, videos and the Crucial Terrain lectures and events, all related to climate change and environmental justice. Students in the IDS course co-lead the discussions.

SCHEDULE (tentative):

Students will watch and discuss the Project Drawdown Videos 1 – 6 at other times. Other group members will need to watch these independently. Each video is about 15 minutes. Here is the link: https://drawdown.org/climate-solutions-101

Students also meet in person the weeks in between the full group conversations.
