Please read all guidelines carefully before starting the actual project work. Any deviation from the project requirements will result in the rejection of your work, so save yourself time and effort by investing some here!
Important to note!
📢 All images must be your own intellectual property. Any fabricated or downloaded images will be rejected.
📢 All images must be taken with the Live Photo mode ON
📢 All images must NOT contain any PII (Personally Identifiable Information). If there is any PII, the live photos must be taken after all PII has been redacted. Editing the image after it has been taken is not acceptable.
📢 When taking an image, you will need to choose one of the default lens options the device provides such as 0.5x, 1x, 2x, etc. Do not adjust the zoom level manually.
📢 Image quality should be at least 7.9 Megapixel resolution.
📢 All images must be taken using the rear camera (i.e. not using the forward facing or 'selfie' camera)
📢 All images must contain the text in the language you have registered for (maximum 20% of the text can be in another language) Depending on your location - Filipino (USA), Catalan (Spain) or Finnish (Finland)
📢 70% of the image must contain a text area, from which 90% of the text must be legible.
What do I need?
iPhone or iPad: Only iPhones or iPads that are included in the list below are eligible for this project. If you listed multiple devices in the registration that are included in the list below, please check the welcome email you have received to confirm which device you should use.
Capture Software: iOS 15+
GPS/photo settings: Please keep the GPS location OFF while taking the photos.
How do I get started?
Start by reading the job guidelines very carefully on this site
Open/Install the DataForce Contribute app on your device by following the installation instructions.
Production Phase
For Printed Text, you will be able to claim jobs in the DataForce Contribute app depending on the availability of the categories you selected in the registration form and your device.
For Handwritten Text, you will be able to claim up to 20 jobs (Live Photos) in the Dataforce Contribute app, depending on the availability of the categories you selected in the registration form and your device.
Instructions for how to claim jobs in the DataForce Contribute app can be found here: How to claim a job?
⚠️If there are other categories you think you will be able to complete and have not yet been assigned to you, kindly let us know by sending us an email to Lotus_imagecollection@freshdesk.transperfect.com and we will check the other job availabilities and add you accordingly.
Is there a limit to how many Live Photos I can contribute?
This project is divided in two different collections. One for handwritten texts and the other for printed texts.
For Handwritten Texts, there is a limit of 2 Live Photos per category and a maximum of 20 Live Photos of Handwritten text in total per participant.
Please note, when submitting a Live Photo for Handwritten text you will need to specify if it is self-written or written by someone else. Kindly note, all handwritten categories can be self-written.
For Printed Texts, you can provide initially 20 Live Photos. If these all are accepted by our Quality Assurance team, you may submit more depending on availability.
Please note, initially, you will only be able to claim jobs from the available categories you selected in the registration for this project. Kindly note, that contribution is on a first-come, first-served basis, so the project availability may end earlier if there is a lot of contributor interest and activity.
If there are other categories you think you will be able to complete that have not yet been assigned to you, kindly let us know by sending us an email to Lotus_imagecollection@freshdesk.transperfect.com and we will check the other job availabilities and add you accordingly.
Please keep the following in mind:
Once you have access to the DataForce Contributor app, if you have claimed jobs but these have not been submitted after 72h they will be automatically rejected and become available for anyone to claim.
We recommend checking that you have all the job required characteristics available before taking the Live Photo and begin uploading data in the DataForce Contribute app.
Check the submission deadlines mentioned in the Welcome email and Follow-up emails carefully.
How to make sure my device is correctly set up before taking the Live Photo?
Make sure you are using the rear camera of the device we instructed you to use in the Welcome email.
Check that the Live Photo setting is ON.
The Live Photo icon is represented by three concentric circles in a 'bullseye'

Detailed instructions for iPad: https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/take-live-photos-ipadfcab963c/ipados
When taking the picture be sure to use one of the options for the lens presented in the camera app: 0.5x, 1x, 2x, etc. Do not adjust the zoom level manually.
Check required lighting conditions in the job instructions.
Normal: Daylight / bright artificial light (No flash on)
Drop down option for: Camera flash on OR Low light OR Aggressive light OR Colored light
For Handwritten Jobs: State if it is self_Handwritten or Not.
A. Live Photo setting is toggled ON. In some devices this needs to be done from within the camera's menu
B. Lens / Zoom is pre-selected and NOT adjusted manually. I.e. Do NOT pinch your fingers together or move them apart to manually zoom in and out
C. Flash is Off or On according to the job instructions in the DFC app. For photos in Normal lighting, it should be Off.
5. Check the orientation of the camera (either Portrait or Landscape)
The job instructions specify if the image should be in Portrait or Landscape orientation.
To automatically switch between portrait and landscape orientation, hold the device vertically and rotate it by 90 degrees.
📢 If the device is held horizontally (e.g. if you are photographing a document flat on the table and the camera is pointing straight down), the orientation will not change automatically. You need to change the orientation while the device is held vertically up before pointing it down.
📢 The photo must be taken in the correct orientation. The image cannot be edited or rotated after it is taken.
Portrait: the height is longer than the width of the image
Landscape: the camera is rotated 90 degrees, so the width is longer than the height of the image
6. Make sure no Personal Identifying Information (PII) is visible in the image
Please refer to our Quality Assurance section for more information regarding PII
How much time do I have to submit a live photo?
Once a job has been claimed, you will have 72 hours to submit it. After the first 48 hours, you will receive a reminder. However, if nothing has been submitted for that job 24 hours after the reminder, the job will be rejected automatically.
Will I be able to claim the same job?
Once a job is rejected, the same one cannot be claimed again. However, depending on the availability at the moment of the images, you may be able to claim a new job that matches the category and characteristics of the job that was rejected due to inactivity.
Until when can I submit live photos?
Estimated project end date: March 6th 2026 or as long as "Jobs" are available.
Please note that contribution is on a first-come, first-served basis, so the project may end earlier if there is a lot of contributor interest and activity.
How can I ensure the images meet the project’s quality standards?
By following all the guidelines as described here and in the Quality Assurance page of course!
