About Us
Welcome to the story of BCChurch—a journey of faith, resilience, and family. If you ask anyone who walks through our doors what makes this place special, you’ll hear the same thing over and over: it feels like home. Not just a church, but a family. A place where you can truly belong.
Our story began over fifty years ago as Boksburg Wesleyan Church, a small but faithful community determined to shine God’s light. Through the years, the church weathered seasons of growth and challenge, but one thing never changed—our love for Jesus and our passion for people.
A defining moment came in 2013 when Rev. Shaun Botha and his wife Gail stepped in to lead. At that time, the church was at a crossroads, in need of renewal and fresh vision. With unwavering faith and a heart for God’s people, they ushered in a new season, bringing a warmth and passion that reignited the spirit of the church. It wasn’t just about filling seats—it was about building lives. Under their leadership, the church became a true community, a place where people felt seen, supported, and encouraged to grow in their walk with Christ.
In 2016, Rev. Rhyno and Lyndene du Plessis joined the journey, carrying that same heart for people and a fresh vision for the future. BCChurch embraced new ways to reach beyond its walls—launching a YouTube channel in 2019 to share the message of hope far and wide. When the world shut down in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, BCChurch didn’t close its heart. We adapted, finding creative ways to stay connected—livestreamed services, online discipleship, and hands-on outreach like the ‘Soup Bottle’ initiative, which still continues today.
But what truly makes BCChurch special isn’t just what happens on Sundays—it’s the everyday love and support woven into the fabric of our community. For some, it’s the prayers and encouragement when they’ve lost a loved one. For others, it’s knowing there’s always someone to call, someone who will walk the journey of faith alongside them. It’s a place where worship fills the room, where the Word challenges and transforms, and where no one is just a face in the crowd.
Today, BCChurch is more than a name—it’s a family, built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. As we continue to grow, we remain focused on our mission: following Jesus, loving others, and building His Kingdom.
So, whether you’ve been with us for years or you’re walking through our doors for the first time, know this—you are welcome, you are loved, and you are part of the story God is writing here.
‘Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.’ (Psalm 127:1)
Welcome home.
