Girls will code Sphero to perform a 30 second dance. In addition to the dance the girls can create a backdrop or other set pieces for Sphero to interact with.

- demonstrate their ability to program Sphero.
- reinforce the idea of abstracting and modularizing with functions (procedures).
How to Implement
How to Implement
- Have girls work in groups of three or four and choose roles, prompting them throughout to switch roles so that everyone gets a chance to participate at different levels.
- They will begin by figuring out what music they want to use and select a 30 second clip (they should not spend more than 10 minutes on this part).
- Have them plan their dance in their design journal. Write out what they want Sphero to do using pseudocode.
- Example: During the chorus of the song, flash purple-green-purple-green; spin in place; roll; zig zag; flash rainbow colors.
- Remind the girls about procedures and encourage their use for each dance move so that it can be easily recalled or repeated later in their code.
- Share their plan with another group.
- Program and test.
- In the large group, showcase all the dances.
