Lunch & Treat Reminders

Outside food is prohibited! Students may pack and/or receive a school lunch. Outside food that is dropped off or delivered from restaurants are not permitted. Also, if you send in classroom snacks/treats they must be individually packaged.

Cell Phones - Off & Away

Student cell phones should be turned off and put away BEFORE they enter the school building. They should remain off and away for the entire school day.

School Shoes Required

School shoes - solid black, brown, burgundy, navy, or saddle dress shoes are required everyday. Tennis shoes are to be worn for physical education class only. Students must bring school shoes to change into if winter boots are worn to school.

Parent Portal

Parent Portal has become a valuable tool for our families. It allows them to easily connect with their student’s school and monitor their student's academic growth and success.

As TPS moves away from printing and mailing reports and grade cards and completing forms manually, Parent Portal is a resource that allows parents to update their demographic information in eSchool, complete required yearly forms and permissions along with viewing their student(s) grades, attendance and assignments – and soon, they will be able to complete student scheduling.

Our goal is for 100 percent of our families to set-up a Parent Portal account and get them engaged with the system.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month!

Many times, when people think of bullying, they think of fighting, arguing, teasing, or acting mean. Those are not acceptable behaviors, but they may not be bullying. An easy way is to remember what bullying means is to refer to the A, B, C, & D of bullying. It must include ALL parts to be considered bullying!

Spot Red Flags (A red flag is anything we see that is unsafe, or hurtful, that we want to stop or stay away from.)

Talk It Up (You can use an assertive voice to say NO to red flags. Always make sure you report the situation to a trusted adult. )
No Blame | No Shame (If you are ever hurt or bullied, you are never to blame and you should never be ashamed to tell a trusted adult.)

The weather is changing!

A few tips to help keep everyone healthy.

Make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep.

Eat a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables.

Wash hands frequently, it helps to prevent the spread of infection. Hand sanitizers are a great alternative if soap and water are not available.

Cover your cough with tissue or shirt sleeve, dispose of used tissues, followed by hand washing or use of hand sanitizer.

Some guidelines to follow in deciding to keep your daughter home from school.

Fever of 100 or higher
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Generalized rash
Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite.
Headache, sore throat, body aches, chills or an earache.
Persistent, productive cough, which has kept them up at night.

Colds and flu can be contagious for at least 48 hours. Keep home until fever free, and/or no diarrhea or vomiting for 24 hours without the use of medication. Returning to school too soon may slow the recovery process and expose other children unnecessarily to illness. *Remember to notify school of the absence and follow up with a note on return. If multiple days out, a doctor’s note is recommended. If you have questions about keeping your child home, please call the school and speak with Nurse Cindy.

Remember, we want your child in class, healthy and ready to learn!!
