Welcome from the Dean and Interim Associate Dean, Clinical Faculty Relations

Dear Doctor,

Thank you for your interest in joining the clinical faculty at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Medicine.

Working with TMU's School of Medicine is an opportunity to contribute to building a new model of care. As a member of our clinical faculty, you'll shape the kinds of doctors who care as deeply about the quality of their medical skills as they do about building a practice that is culturally respectful, intentionally inclusive and continuously innovative. You’ll also make an impact by helping to build much-needed physician capacity in Brampton and its surrounding communities.

We are currently recruiting both part-time and adjunct clinical faculty members. Clinical faculty will drive the School of Medicine’s work through Clinical Teaching and Educational Activities, Scholarly, Research, Creative, and Innovation (SRCI) activities, and/or Service and Leadership activities. We will also support the professional growth of clinical faculty members through targeted clinical faculty development opportunities in the lead up to our 2025 opening.

Formal teaching experience is not required to submit an application. The perspectives of physicians on the ground in hospitals and community clinics, whether or not they have taught before, are critical to transforming medical education. We value the wisdom, expertise and experiences that you have to share, and we know that the physicians of tomorrow will value them, too.

TMU is here to assist you in becoming a clinical faculty member. We encourage you to review our Frequently Asked Questions document for the answers to many common questions. You can also email somclinicalfaculty@torontomu.ca with any additional questions you may have.

This is an exciting time for the future of healthcare in Ontario. We hope you will join us on our journey to transforming medical education, and ultimately to improving the well-being of individuals, families and communities.

Sincerely,

Dr. Teresa M. Chan
