Q1: When is Orientation/enrolment for Business School and IT School?

Orientation week starts on Monday, 8 July, and until Friday, 13 July2024

At IMC, Orientation runs for the whole week before the start of term. During this week, students get the chance to ask questions, register for workshops and meet other students. As part of Orientation Week, students can book a campus tour to familiarise themselves with their surroundings before classes commence. 

Q2: When do classes start?

Classes will commence on Monday, 15 July 2024.

Q3. What is the process for enrolment?

Enrolment can be done via our Student Portal System

For new students, the online enrolment contains 5 simple steps. If you get stuck, reach outIf you have forgotten your password, please click “forgot password” to reset.

Q4. What teaching mode will be used for Term 2, 2024?

Most units will be taught in a "face-to-face" mode in Term 2, 2024. Only a small number of units will be taught entirely online.

Q5: What does face-to-face mode mean? 

"Face-to-face" mode means students will be taught in classrooms on campus. Face-to-face classes will not be live-streamed to students in remote locations. On-campus classes will be recorded for later reference and revision by students, but the recording will not include all class activities. 

Q6: What if I cannot log into my Student Portal?

Q7: What if I cannot access "Select units and Timetable"?

There could be a few reasons for this, such as:

a. You may have outstanding fees. If so, please contact fees@imc.edu.au

b. You may have outstanding documents. If so, please contact application@imc.edu.au

c. You may have not completed ALL the information requested in the previous steps.

d. If you are still unable to access “Select Units and Timetable”, please contact our Admissions team via application@imc.edu.au

Q8: How can I select my units and timetable?

Students can select their units and timetable via their Student Portal. You should be able to see available units and a timetable. Watch a video demo

Q9: When is the enrolment deadline?

Please note that the enrolment deadline for Term 3, 2023 is Friday, 26 July 2024.

The Census date is Friday, 9 August 2024.  

Q10: How can I modify my unit selection?

You can modify your unit selection via the Student Portal before the enrolment deadline. Please note that you can add or withdraw units during the enrolment period without penalties.

You can only withdraw from units after the enrolment deadline and before the census date without academic penalties. If you withdraw from any units after the census date, academic penalties will apply.

Q11: What should I do if I do not know what units to choose?

Q12: If I require a Study Plan interview (as per my offer letter), how can I make a booking?

Our staff will contact you by email or phone regarding your Study Plan booking. You need to attend the phone meeting as this is part of your condition for enrolment. An arrangement will be made by week 2 of the enrolment period.

Q13: What is the standard study load, and how should I plan for my enrolment

The standard full-time study load is 8 units per year, except for students enrolled in the Master of Marketing, which has a full-time study load of 6 units per year. Please refer to the How to Plan Your Enrolment page for more details.

Q14: How can I get my Student ID card?

You can request your student photo online using this link. Please contact our staff via myrecords@imc.edu.au for assistance.

Q15: I have been asked to provide a USI. What is it, and where can I get it?

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your individual education number for life. All students studying in Australia are required to have a USI if they are a higher education student graduating in 2023 or beyond. This requirement also gives you an Online record of your educational journey and training providers undertaken in Australia.

If you already have one, please send it to application@imc.edu.au with your student name and number.

If you do not have one, please log onto https://www.usi.gov.au/ and create one. The process is free and should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
