Tolland Public Schools currently offers students the opportunity to learn Spanish starting at the middle school level, and through high school. Our world language teachers have developed an engaging curriculum that aligns with the national ACTFL standards.
Students not only learn the vocabulary and conversational skills to communicate with a new language, but they also learn about the different Spanish speaking countries. While learning about countries around the world, they are exposed to different cultural traditions and the history of various groups, and are able to compare those group's lifestyles to their own.
Students also have the opportunity during their high school years to take a state administered assessment, and receive the seal of biliteracy on their high school diploma if they meet the requirements.
