"Our mission is to create a connected community for all students through active participation in creating, performing and responding to music.  We provide independent and collaborative musical experiences where students can develop curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and a growth mindset. We ensure that all students have equal opportunities to succeed and we foster a pathway for lifelong involvement with music. "

Students are immersed in a variety of opportunities throughout K-12 to learn about music. 
Students start their musical journey at BGP learning how to create rhythms, produce pitch, and sing songs.

When students transition to TIS, they have the opportunity to participate in chorus and band, in addition to their journey through the general music classes.

At TMS, students continue to be provided with the same opportunities, as well as as some additional after school specialized clubs.  

By the time they arrive at THS, they are able to choose elective courses that help them to grow in specialized areas within vocal or instrumental music.

The music department in Tolland, has worked diligently to vertically align their curriculum in order to provide engaging and diverse experiences throughout their schooling.  They have also designed a town wide concert in the spring each year to highlight all of the hard work students have engaged in throughout the year.
