Day 7: Island Hopping and Outdoor Adventures in Ang Thong National Marine Park

Today was an action-packed day filled with adventure and exploration! We embarked on a boat trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park, where our students had the opportunity to engage in various outdoor activities amidst the stunning natural beauty of this archipelago.

We hiked through lush, tropical forests, discovering hidden waterfalls and breathtaking viewpoints. Kayaking in the turquoise waters allowed us to explore secluded beaches and get up close with the diverse marine life that inhabits the area. The students also enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation time on the pristine beaches, soaking up the sun and unwinding after an exciting day.

In the evening, we gathered for a delicious dinner overlooking the sea, reflecting on our amazing experiences and sharing stories from the day. We plan to visit the night market again tonight, and we will communicate any changes to our travel plans tomorrow morning if there are any. 

Day 6: Koh Samui Cultural Exploration and Leisure Activities

On the sixth day of our TIS Macao Experience Week trip, we bid farewell to Koh Tao and traveled back to Koh Samui. Our first stop was a visit to a stunning temple, where students had the opportunity to marvel at the majestic giant Buddha statue and learn about Thai culture and spiritual practices.

Following our enriching temple visit, we enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch with a focus on fresh, locally caught fish. The flavors and aromas of authentic Thai cuisine delighted our students and deepened their appreciation for the local culture.

In the afternoon, we participated in an engaging Maui Thai fighting workshop. The students were eager to learn the basic techniques of this traditional martial art, showcasing their enthusiasm and commitment to expanding their knowledge of Thai culture.

As the day came to a close, we gathered for dinner at an open-air Thai restaurant, immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere and delicious flavors of the island. Finally, we explored a nearby night market close to our hotel, where students had the chance to shop for unique souvenirs and indulge in local street food.

Day 5: Snorkeling Adventure, Coral Dome Presentations, and Farewell to Koh Tao - Team 1

On the fifth day of our TIS Macao Experience Week trip, our students embarked on an all-morning snorkeling excursion in various locations around the breathtaking Koh Tao. During their underwater exploration, they encountered an array of fascinating marine wildlife, with the most notable sighting being a rare blacktip reef shark.

After working up an appetite from their snorkeling adventure, the students enjoyed a delightful lunch on the boat as they returned to shore. In the afternoon, they gathered for their highly anticipated coral dome design presentations. Each group showcased their innovative and eco-friendly creations, with the Coral Tribe team providing valuable feedback and praising our students for their dedication and passion for marine conservation.

Following the presentations, a winning group was selected based on their outstanding design and the potential impact it could have on the local ecosystem. Afterward, the students had some leisure time to unwind, socialize with their fellow teammates, and soak up the sun by the pool and beach.

As the sun began to set on our time in Koh Tao, we celebrated our unforgettable experiences with a final beach dinner. The students then packed their bags, preparing for the return trip to Koh Samui, where they will continue their journey of learning, growth, and unforgettable memories.

Day 4: Coral Dome Design Continues and Beach Cleanup in Koh Tao - Team 1

On the fourth day of our TIS Macao Experience Week trip in Koh Tao, our group divided into two teams once again for another day of engaging activities. One team dedicated their morning to continuing the work on their coral dome designs, building upon the progress made the previous day. Students collaborated on creative ideas and refined their projects, further contributing to the restoration of the local coral ecosystem.

The other team started the day by participating in a meaningful beach cleanup activity. Equipped with gloves and trash bags, they combed the beach for litter, making a positive impact on the local environment and marine life.

After a traditional Thai lunch, the two teams switched activities, allowing everyone to participate in both the ongoing coral dome construction and the beach cleanup effort. The enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by our students throughout the day was great to see.

As the day came to a close, we enjoyed pool and beach time from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm, relaxing and soaking up the sun. We then gathered for a delightful dinner on the beach and then went for a quick star gaze which resulted in some laughter. This was followed by preparations for the open water snorkeling scheduled for the next day.

Day 3: Coral Dome Creation and Snorkeling Adventures in Koh Tao - Team 1

On the third day of our TIS Macao Experience Week trip in Koh Tao, our group divided into two teams for an exciting day of learning and exploration. One team dedicated their morning to designing and creating coral domes, applying the knowledge and skills they had acquired during previous sessions with Coral Tribe.

Simultaneously, the other team embarked on a snorkeling adventure in the crystal-clear waters of Koh Tao. Accompanied by experienced master divers, they explored the stunning reef and observed the diverse marine life that inhabits the area.

After a traditional Thai lunch, the two teams switched activities, allowing everyone to participate in both the creative process of coral dome construction and the immersive experience of snorkeling in the reef. The enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by our students throughout the day were truly inspiring.

Discovering Koh Tao: TIS Macao Experience Week Adventure in Thailand

Day 2: An Early Start to an Unforgettable Journey - Team 1

Our TIS Macao Experience Week trip to Thailand has officially begun! We started our day bright and early, leaving the hotel at 6:30 am to catch the 8:00 am ferry to the beautiful island of Koh Tao. After a couple of stops along the way, we arrived at our destination around 11:30 am, excited for the adventures ahead.

We checked into our home for the next few days, the Regent Hotel, and enjoyed a delightful lunch before diving into an informative presentation by Jenny from Coral Tribe. We learned about the inspiring origins of the coral dome project in Koh Tao and how our group will contribute to this important initiative.

Tomorrow, we will have the opportunity to start our own coral dome projects and explore past domes by snorkeling out from the beach. This hands-on experience will allow us to inspect the previous domes, gain inspiration for our own projects, and learn about the incredible marine life in the area.

After a day of learning and discovery, we savored a traditional Thai dinner together, followed by fun beach games led by our enthusiastic facilitators.
