Students are required to take the following to graduate:
8 credits of English
English 1 - 9th grade
English 2 - 10th grade
Global Literature and Composition - 11th/12th grade
2 more credits of any English classes not already taken - 11th/12th grade
6 credits of Math
Any Math but recommended order - Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, then advanced math courses (If attending a 4-year college, recommend taking 4 years of Math)
6 credits of Social Studies (including Government)
World Studies - 9th grade
US History - 10th grade
Government - 12th grade
1 more Social Science elective throughout High School.
6 credits of Science
General Science - 9th grade
Any other 4 credits of Science but recommended order - Biology, Chemistry, then advance science courses (If going into any Health field, recommend 4 years of Science)
4 credits of PE (1 semester each year)
1 credit of Health - 9th or 10th grade
58 TOTAL credits are required!

College Courses:
All college courses at THS are counted as elective credits.
Allowed for any student in 11th or 12th grade that has a 3.0 GPA or higher and has good attendance (less than 5 days missed per semester).
Allowed for 10th grade students that are in TAG/ELP (based on ISASP scores).
Each college course is one semester and for each course passed you would receive 1 credit at Tipton High School.
If students Fail a college course eligibility requirements apply (per the student handbook).
If dropping a college course after the drop time, is counted as a withdrawal. A W will appear on your transcript. Kirkwood also may put you on probation if 50% or more of your college courses were withdrawn from.
If you fail a Kirkwood course, you will not be allowed to take a Kirkwood class the following semester.
