For darker backgrounds such as Thunkable Purple, Sunkist, Iris, or darker grays, the White text should be used most of the time. If White offers too much stark contrast on darker gray backgrounds, use Cultured from our design system (#F8F9FB).
The majority of light backgrounds, including lighter tints colors, will allow for two grays:
For medium contrast, use nothing less than Talus Gray from the optimal Grayscale contrast.
If backgrounds are a little darker, use Onyx from the Grayscale.
These recommendations follow online guidelines for accessibility called WCAG. The required number to meet is 4.5:1 for standard text and 3:1 for large text.
