Good morning, Kindergarten!
I hope you were able to get to Google Drive on Friday so that you are ready to turn things into your Digital Portfolios. If not, be sure to go back to Friday's lesson and do that first thing! I hope you had a great weekend! Our Zoom class meeting will include a directed drawing lesson of a plant. Hope to see you there!
Today makes 131 days of Kindergarten!

Today, we're talking about GRATITUDE! What does gratitude mean? Do you know what it means to be grateful? Another way to say "grateful" is "thankful." Start by reading/watching The Thankful Book by Todd Parr. Now, I'd like you to play the "Gratitude Game." You will need 1 crayon or marker in each of the following colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue. Put all of the crayons or markers in a bag or cup where you can't see them, and get a piece of paper. Now, taking turns or on your own, pull 1 color out of the cup at a time. (Or you can use this spinner I made). Check the chart below to see what category you get, and answer the question by writing your response. Put the crayon or marker back in the cup and do it again. Play for awhile or until you run out of ideas! There are so many things in life to be thankful for!
RED: Write the name of a PERSON you're grateful for
ORANGE: Write a PLACE you're grateful for
YELLOW: Write a FOOD you're grateful for
GREEN: Write a THING you're grateful for
BLUE: Write ANYTHING of your choice that you're grateful for!
See Mrs. Bradley's Gratitude Game results to the left!
See what others are up to! Click on our class Padlet and add a picture of you or comment on your friends' pictures!
Estimate: At least 15 minutes
Read-to-Self: Read books that are "just right" for you... not too hard and not too easy. You may use the books Mrs. Bradley sent home with you, other books at your house, or Kids A-Z (Raz Kids) books by logging in on the iPad or computer. Read for at least 15 minutes.
Estimate: 5 minutes
Sight Words: Practice your sight words by choosing an activity off of this sight word choice board! You could also practice your sight words using Boom Cards.

This week, we're going to write a "How To" book explaining How to Plant a Seed. Today your job is research! If you have the opportunity, go outside and plant a real seed! If not, choose one or more of these videos to learn more about the process. Think about the steps and what order they occur. You do not need to write anything down today.
Estimate: 10 minutes
So far, we've learned about the parts of the plant and their functions (or their jobs). Today, I would like you to watch this video on BrainPop Jr. to learn about the life cycle of a plant.

Blowing bubbles is a great way to be mindful. Focus on taking a deep, slow breath and exhaling steadily to fill the bubble. (Don't have bubbles? Make them at home!)
Add to your weather chart each day.
Leer Lunes
Amigos, it’s leer lunes! I miss reading stories to you every Monday! I found the perfect tale about a character you’re probably familiar with (and may have already read recently). The best part is that it’s in both English AND Spanish. So, snuggle up, get comfy and enjoy this Eric Carle story!
Pregunta del Día: Do you remember how to say caterpillar in Spanish? (la oruga)
Choose an activity or two from this list each day we would meet together for music. Students are welcome to do extra or past activities for enrichment or as they wish to explore.
