Book Care
On this page we have information for students, families and friends on taking care of library books.
We recommend to students and families that they set aside a special spot for library books. This makes it easier to find books when it is time to return them. This could be a shelf in a family room, a special basket in your bedroom, or even kept in a student's backpack. 📚
Please - pretty please with sugar on it - do not keep water bottles inside of backpacks with library books. Most backpacks have special pockets on them to help keep bottles from leaking on books and folders. Some water bottles sweat when they get too cold, and that can also get books wet. The worst part about water getting on books is: Water + Books = Mold! 🚱
Make sure that library books go back to the correct library to ensure books are returned ontime. (Our books all have pockets with the school name inside them, and our school name is also on the barcode found on the back of the book.) 🏫
We appreciate your keeping library books out of reach of baby siblings and pets that don't know how to care for books. 👶🐶🐱
Please do not keep library books near water (like near the kitchen sink, in bathrooms) or forget them outside where rain, wind and other weather can damage them. 🌧️
A bookmark that won't damage books, like a small card or piece of paper, is best to mark your page. (Please don't fold the corner of pages, use paper clips or very thick items that can damage a book as a book mark).
We love cookies, but don't recommend eating and drinking with your library book. 🍪
