Ballerina Clouds
By Valentina Issa
1st Place, Liddell
Valentina loved to dance. She was on her way to her first ballet competition when she looked out of the car window and saw beautiful, fluffy clouds. There were butterflies, fairies and dancing ballerinas. The clouds looked like the big tutu of a ballerina as she twirled in the sky.
Rain started to fall on the car window, and then the clouds went away. Bye, bye clouds, see you another day.
Clouds
By Lana Khairo,
Highly Commended, Liddell
The cloud is white,
The cloud is fluffy,
It is very high in the sky,
It comes and goes every day,
It is never the same shape.
When the cloud is light, I feel happy,
When the cloud is dark, I feel sad.

Animals in the Sky
By Oscar Redman
2nd Place, Lewis
Once upon a time I was playing in my backyard and then I looked up and saw a cloud. It was big and white. It looked like a bird. The wind moved the cloud, and it looked like the bird was flying. This made me feel happy. I kept looking at the cloud until it disappeared.
Then I saw another cloud in the sky. It was dark and grey and shaped like a rhino. The rhino got bigger and darker. I got scared so I ran inside. I went to my bedroom and watched from my window to see if the rhino was still there. Instead, it was raining, and the rhino had gone. After the rain had stopped and the clouds turned white, I looked at the sky and saw an amazing rainbow.

A Cloud called Fluff
By Georgia Awad
Highly Commended, Liddell
Once upon a time there was a special cloud. She was bright and white and had rosy cheeks. Her friends called her Fluff. Fluff was always happy and cheerful. She loved to dance.
One day Fluff was invited to a dance party. It was at the end of the rainbow. This was very far away but her mum said she could go.
The next morning Fluff started her day. She was so excited. Fluff was walking and singing her favourite song – la la la la la. Suddenly, she saw a huge, rainbow river. Fluff was worried about how she was going to cross it. There were some logs next to the river. She tied the logs together so she could get across. The logs were very wobbly, but she bravely got to the other side.
Fluff walked for such a long, long time. She finally made it to the dance party. Fluff and her friends danced and danced. They ate their favourite food, which was marshmallows.
Fluff had the best time ever.
The Cloud Emotions

Once upon a time there were two clouds named Happy and Anger. Happy wanted the weather to be bright and sunny and Anger wanted it to thunder and for there to be lightning!
Sadness Cloud came along and said, “Why can’t it be pouring down raining?” and started to cry.
Loving Cloud came along and said, “What is happening here?” Happy said, “We all can't agree on the weather today! Can you help us?” Loving thought for a moment and said, “I love peace, I love friends, and I love to help everyone to feel happy. That is why I am shaped like a love heart. Yes, I will help you!”
Loving said to Sadness, “Are you ok, Sadness?” Sadness replied “NO!” Loving then asked Sadness, “Why do you want the weather to be pouring down raining?”
Sadness said confidently, “Because I water the plants so they can grow big and green, and I make water so everyone can drink!”
Loving turned to Happy and said, “Are you ok, Happy?” Happy replied, “NO!” Loving asked Happy, “Why do you want the weather to be sunny?”
Happy answered, “Because the flowers follow me and I make everyone happy! Everyone comes out to play in the sun and I can see them having lots of fun.”
Next Loving turned to Anger and asked, “Are you ok, Anger?” Anger yelled back, “NO!” Loving asked Anger, “Why do you want there to be thunder and lightning?”
Anger answered, “Because storms are lots of fun! I put on a lightning show, and I bring lots of energy and power to the earth.”
Loving said, “Fighting is not the right way you’re supposed to love each other.” Loving introduced his friends Arty Cloud and Windy Cloud to Anger, Happy and Sadness.
“Hi, I’m Arty Cloud. I love to make rainbows and sunsets in the sky. After it rains, I paint the sky red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink. When the sun sets I paint the sky red, orange, yellow, pink and purple.”
“Hi, I’m Windy Cloud. I swirl the clouds around and around, up and down, left and right. I go around Happy, Sadness, Loving, Anger and Arty Clouds to change the weather.”
Loving looked at his friends and said, “We are all important and we need each other. If you all show love and kindness to each other and if you all work together, we can make today a beautiful day.”
