One day I was in my room and the light was on. I said good night to by brother Arlen. I then said I want to look at the thunderstorm. I sat on a chair, watching the thunderstorm.

Cloud Party
By Lucy Bautovich
Highly Commended, Wilberforce
Can you please come to my cloud party? Set up the table to get ready. Put the cups and plates on the table. Then we cook some cloud food. Bubbly clouds look like popcorn. Rainbow clouds look like cotton candy. Sun clouds are strawberry and mango ice cream. Fluffy clouds in the sky for mint and blueberry ice cream. Rainy clouds are the water in your cup. A rainbow comes out and the clouds have a dance. The sun comes in the sky and says peek-a-boo! The grass tickles people’s feet. The clouds tidy up and then they leave to go back to the sky.
Fairy Floss Clouds
By David Faul
Highly Commended, Carmichael
On a warm Saturday afternoon, I was playing with my sister in the backyard. We looked at the sky and saw that the blue had been taken over by pink and orange. The clouds looked like fluffy, delicious fairy floss puffs.
I was very hungry, and I said to my sister, “I really would like some candy. Imagine if the clouds were actually fairy floss.”
I had an idea to use a slingshot and send a stick to the clouds. After I did this, I watched the stick go high into the sky and when it came back to me it was covered in sugary orange and pink fairy floss.
Every time I tasted this special treat, it would magically change into the flavour of some of my favourite orange or pink foods:
Fresh oranges,
Juicy watermelon,
Yummy strawberries,
Cheesy cheezels,
Chunky rockmelon,
Fuzzy raspberries.
Who knew that the clouds had kept such a tasty secret from us for all this time!
