Nonfiction

In our first unit of the year, we explored the world of nonfiction! We learned the reasons for why authors write nonfiction, as well as the different structures for how they can write nonfiction articles. Students also learned about the various text features that are found in nonfiction writing and how they can help them understand a text better. They finished the unit with learning how to find the main idea of an article and were able to use the skills they gained to independently analyze a nonfiction article.
