TMHS Innovation Pathways
Learning Meets Opportunity
Learning Meets Opportunity
Innovation Career Pathways are designed to give students coursework and experience in a specific high-demand industry, such as information technology, engineering, healthcare, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing. Strong partnerships are built with employers in order to expose students to career options and help them develop knowledge and skills related to their chosen field of study before they graduate high school. TMHS Innovation Pathways Engineering Program
Welcome to the Innovation Pathways (IP) Engineering Program at Tewksbury Memorial High School. This program is designed for students in grades 9-12 who are interested in exploring and pursuing careers in engineering. Here’s what the program offers:
Core Components:
Academic Rigor: Students will engage in two advanced courses designed to hone their problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. These courses emphasize real-world applications and teamwork, preparing students for the complexities of modern work environments.
Applied Skills: Participants must complete two engineering technical courses, gaining hands-on experience and practical skills in the field.
Capstone Project: The program culminates in a capstone project, which can be completed through a traditional senior project or the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Capstone course, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned in a comprehensive project.
Support and Opportunities:
Academic Support: We offer tutoring and support from enthusiastic teachers and a STEM Pathways Coordinator to help students succeed.
Enrichment: Students can participate in college visits, guest speaker sessions, field trips, engineering camps, and more, to broaden their understanding of the field.
Community Partnerships: Our connections with UMass Lowell and the Greater Lowell Workforce Board provide additional learning opportunities and insights into the engineering industry.
Open to ALL: The IP Engineering Program at TMHS is open to all students. We are committed to supporting every student’s journey, regardless of their background or skill level.
College Credit and Skills Development:
Students have the chance to earn college credit through dual enrollment, AP courses, and PLTW courses. Additionally, the program focuses on developing essential skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and communication, preparing students for success in the future workforce.
Join the IP Engineering Program at Tewksbury Memorial High School to gain valuable technical knowledge, explore career pathways in engineering, and develop the skills needed for tomorrow’s workforce.
