Makati City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)Regional Training Center (RTC) 02 played a pivotal role in the deve-lopment ofDiploma Program Standards (DPS) for 17 Regional TVET Innovation Centers(RTICs). Spearheaded by Administrator Venancio T. Balisi, with the support of Diploma focal Rogelio C. Rambuyan, Sr. TESD Specialist Mary Jane T. Eslabra, and CurriculumFocal Lea R. Macababbad, the RTC 02 team collaborated with 41 other RTICs toestablish DPS development teams and conduct capacity-building sessions.
The workshop focused on establishing DPS development teams for each RTIC andconducting capacity-building sessions. The goal was to develop diploma programs in 7 key areas: Modern Manufacturing, Metals and Engineering, Mechatronics, Fish Culture, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Warehouse and Logistics Management, and Automotive and Land Transport sector to address industry demands.
RTC 02 took the lead in developing the Diploma Program in Refrigeration and Cold Chain Technology, leveraging its expertise to create a curriculum that aligns with industry standards and produces highly skilled graduates. The initial curriculum output, presented at the workshop, marks a crucial milestone in enhancing TVET programs in the Philippines.The initiative was undertaken as part of the Supporting Innovation in the Philippine TVET System (SIPTVETS) Project and took place from July 22 to 26, 2024, at the Tiara Hotel Oriental, Makati City.This step underscores TESDA's commitment to providing students with the necessary skills to excel in the growing refrigeration and cold chain industry,

September 20, 2024 | Regional Training Center (RTC)- Tuguegarao held its Trainees’ Day today, featuring various activities to promote physical fitness, unity, and environmental responsibility.The event aimed to encourage camaraderie among trainees, develop teamwork, and highlight the importance of personal and social well-being as part of their training experience. The day started with an energizing dance exercise, where participants followed lively routines that boosted both energy and morale.A sportsfest was also held, focusing on teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship, helping trainees form stronger bonds with each other.

These plans will serve as blueprints for RTICs to implement innovative programs, modernize facilities, and foster industry partnerships.The workshop focused on setting clear tar-gets, identifying responsive programs, and outlining strategies for institutional growth. Participants presented initial IDPs, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing TVET education.RTC 02's active involvement underscores TESDA's dedication to equipping Filipinos with the skills needed to thrive in the modern workforce. Staff from the Regional Training Center, Provincial Office of Cagayan, and the Regional Office joined forces with the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Society of Filipino Foresters to plant trees in Namabbalan Sur, Tuguegarao City. This initiative, part of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, aimed to combat deforestation, support the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Program, and provide CPD units to PRC-regulated professionals. By participating, TESDA Region II demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship and public service.

The TTI Advisory Council convened on April 26, 2024, at the TESDA Complex in Tuguegarao City to review updates on the Council's structure and strategic direction for TESDA RTC 02. Chairperson Evelyn L. Velasco reaffirmed the council's dedicaTion to advancing RTC initiatives. A key focus of the meeting was the presentation of the 2024 2028 Institutional Development Plan (IDP).Notably, the council made important recommdations regarding the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of RTC 02. They proposed integrating Research, Innovation, and Green TVET to meet current industry demands, as part of the ground work for establishing the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTIC). Enrile, Cagayan – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training and Assessment Center 02 recently conducted a training program at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Cagayan Valley Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (CV-RRCY) in Roma, Enrile, Cagayan.Twenty-five participants enrolled in the Motorcycle/Small Engine NC2 training program, which lasted for 15 days. The training was facilitated by Rolando U. Salvatiera, a skilled trainer from TESDA RTC 02.
The training program equipped the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate and maintain motorcycles and small engines. This valuable training will enable them to acquire employment opportunities in the automotive industry or start their own businesses.TESDA RTC 02 continues to collaborate with various government agencies and institutions to provide relevant and accessible training programs to the communities it serves.

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The TESDA RTC Tuguegarao, under the leadership of RTC Administrator Venancio T. Balisi, successfully conducted a community-based training in Service Motorcycle/Small Engine System (MSES) in partnership with the Local Government of Allacapan, Cagayan. The 15-day training, led by Community Training and Employment Coordinator Ms. Maryjane D. Quaresma, focused on various aspects of MSES, including Service Fuel System, Service Intake and Exhaust System, Service Lubrication System, Service Cooling System, and Service Clutch and Transmission System. The training aimed to equip participants with the skills necessary to obtain the M/SES NC II certification. Mr. Rolando U. Salvatera, a skilled trainer in M/SES NC II, facilitated the training, which provided participants with valuable livelihood skills. The program was designed to help participants reintegrate into their communities and contribute to their local economies. A total of 24 individuals completed the 120 -hour training, which was held at Barangay Capagaran, Allacapan, Cagayan from April 15 to May 7, 2024.This successful training initiative highlights TESDA RTC Tuguegarao's commitment to empowering communities through skills development and providing opportunities for sustainable livelihood.
