What to Know About the Plan for a Bond Referendum
The Tenafly Board of Education is planning a bond referendum on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The Board will host two community forums to present referendum plans and answer questions from residents: a virtual forum on August 5 and an in-person forum on September 9.
The following information is based on the Tenafly Public Schools (TPS) Board of Education receiving state approval by early July to hold a referendum on September 17. Registered voters in Tenafly would be able to cast ballots in person or by mail.
Key Dates to Remember for Voting:
Tuesday, August 27 – Voter registration must be complete.
Tuesday, September 10 – Vote By Mail applications must be received (if sent by mail).
Monday, September 16 – Vote By Mail applications must be hand-delivered by 3 p.m.
Tuesday, September 17 – In-person voting will be available to registered voters.
As the referendum approaches, Bergen County officials will determine in-person polling places and the Board of Education will finalize poll times. That information will be listed on this website. The sample ballot that all registered voters receive in the mail will also contain polling place information.
