A syllabus quiz allows the instructor to gauge how well the students understood the course policies addressed during the introduction to the course (first day). The last question in my syllabus quiz is as follows: 

I have read the BIOL 1406 Course Syllabus and have had all my questions answered concerning the course policies.

A. Yes

   B. No

This question provides a way for you to have documentation that the student has acknowledged receipt of the syllabus and that they have had an opportunity to ask questions. This can be helpful with any questions later in the semester regarding the syllabus policies.
