We will incentivize and facilitate Alumni within our regions to work together and improve life outcomes for low-income children. We will be fierce mobilizers of collective action.

Our Journey So Far
Until 2016, most of our Alumni spaces were focused on one-time engagement without a clear call to action. The big bet in Phase 3 was to elevate the degree of engagement by activating Alumni agency through a layered approach.

Sustain and Harvest: Collective action towards ed. equity
However, over time we realized that this approach had it's challenges. It was communicated as organic, but required intentional effort. The layered nature made it harder to keep educational equity at the center, and the team struggled with adopting it fully, due to lack of expertise and goals beyond engagement.
Our principles in Phase 4
Focus on Acting towards Educational equity
Anchor Alumni in our vision and mission through regional roadmaps and national priorities.
Invest in key Alumni
Tap into the expertise within our Alumni to accelerate the progress of the network.
Encourage wide participation
Continue to reach Alumni at scale while actively creating high-quality learning and action opportunities
Increase impact
Offer more resources (people and money) to streamline the work and ensure more accountability.
Our goals
Connect
100% Alumni will connect with us and each other to update themselves on what’s happening in Teach For India, in the Education Sector and the Alumni Movement.
Currently, we have 85% of our Alumni on TFI Connect.
Participate
70% Alumni will participate in spaces anchored in educational equity - held by Teach For India, Alumni chapters and Alumni themselves.
Currently, 30 - 40% Alumni participate in TFI events and spaces every year.
Create
5% Alumni will create the best experiences where we can learn and act collectively towards education equity.
1 - 2% Alumni are currently leading spaces for collective learning & action which may or may not directly tie into our mission and vision.
How will we get there
Build an accurate Alumni database, which is updated regularly
Launch Alumni Chapters in our Regions, with a common mission of working towards educational equity
Bring Alumni together to engage in a Regional Story of Progress every year through InspirED
Pilot ways to build and grow communities of common interest, skills, ideas, etc.
Identify 5% Alumni who will become community builders for the rest!
