Thank you, everyone, for continuing to create at home! These posts will be up and active through August, in case you didn't have a chance to try out an activity. I look forward to seeing you soon! Have a great summer! - Mrs. Braun
This video is an introduction to our project for this week.
Hope you had a great weekend! This week I would like you to choose something to draw from Art for Kids Hub. Art for Kids hub is a great online resource for drawing and origami. Please choose one drawing or one oragami to do and share your work with me! mbraun@teachers.kusd.edu
This week we will be reading Lines that Wiggle by Candance Whittman and reviewing one of our most important elements of art....LINE. You then have two choices in what you create. This is a drawing challenge where you create a picture using one continuous line.

This activity starts by drawing a ninja step-by-step. Then you can add three things that you look forward to doing during this time at home. This drawing is suggested for K-2, but you can definitely try this drawing if you want!
In this activity, we will be drawing ourselves as ninjas. We should tell a story with this drawing by adding details about something we have done during this time at home...or about something that we would still like to do. I would like you to fill up your space (add that horizon line!) and add value to your work.
This week we will be reading Not a Stick by Antionette Portis. You then have two choices in what you create. There is a drawing activity and a nature collage activity. It is up you you what activity you do! But when you are finished, please e-mail a photo of your creation to me at

This week we will look at some of the different supplies you can use to create at home. We are using robots as our subject, but you can use any subject that you would like! The demo covers collage, texture rubbing over a cardboard collage, and painting with home-made liquid watercolor. Please take this week to try something new using the materials that you have at home!
This video gives a short explanation of what we will be doing today.
In this video, we will be talking about collage and the types of materials we can use to create a robot collage. I will then make a collage out of cardboard from my recycle bin and use that to do a crayon texture rubbing. Finally, I will show you how you can make your own watercolor paint from old markers and use it to paint your crayon rubbing. Whew!
I would love to see your Robot artwork! Click on the link below and drop your Robot photos into this Folder. If possible, use your first name for the file name. Or, you can e-mail them to mbraun@teachers.kusd.edu Thanks for sharing!
An explanation of the robot drawing we will be doing today
