A little about me...
Welcome!
Hi, I'm Mrs.Davis your Science teacher! I am excited about starting a new school year and getting to know you. Here are a few tidbits about me... I grew up in Brazil. I have a wonderful husband, Michael Davis. I have been blessed with four beautiful daughters: Gabi is a realtor in Austin TX, Ronni wants to become a pharmacist and she’ll be studying in Massachusetts, Sam and Danny are seniors and Sam wants to become a cosmetologist while Danny wants to study to be an eating disorder therapist. I have been a teacher at Monnig MS for 3 years, an educator for over 15 years but a student my whole life. I enjoy learning, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
Hola, soy la señora Davis, tu profesora de ciencias. Estoy emocionada de comenzar un nuevo año escolar y conocerlos. Aquí hay algunas cositas sobre mí ... Crecí en Brasil. Tengo un esposo maravilloso, Michael Davis. He sido bendecida con cuatro hermosas hijas: Gabi es una inmobiliaria en Austin TX, Ronni quiere convertirse en farmacéutica y ella estudiará en Massachusetts, Sam y Danny están terminando la escuela secundaria. Sam quiere convertirse en cosmetóloga mientras Danny quiere estudiar para ser un terapeuta de trastornos alimentarios. He sido maestra en Monnig MS durante 3 años, educadora durante más de 15 años, pero estudiante toda mi vida. Disfruto aprender, trabajar en el jardín, viajar y pasar tiempo con mis amigos y mi familia.
My Education and Professional Background
I completed two years of my Bachelor’s of Science degree at the University of São Paulo, Brazil and finished it at the University of California San Diego, CA. I earned my Masters in Radiological Health Physics from San Diego State University, CA. I worked as a nuclear safety engineer at San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, but decided my passion was teaching middle schoolers. I am certified to teach all core classes from 4th to 8th grade.
Completé dos años de mi licenciatura en Ciencias en la Universidad de São Paulo, Brasil y la terminé en la Universidad de California en San Diego, CA. Obtuve mi Maestría en Física de la Salud Radiológica de la Universidad Estatal de San Diego, CA. Trabajé como ingeniero de seguridad nuclear en la planta de energía nuclear de San Onofre, pero decidí que mi pasión era enseñar a estudiantes de secundaria. Estoy certificado para enseñar todas las clases básicas de 4º a 8º grado.
My Educational Philosophy
I will create an environment that fosters the importance of learning and a strong work ethic. I will teach and expect every child to learn the importance of respect, integrity, compassion, and leadership. My students will combine the importance of learning with the value of strong character to become a contributor in all areas of their lives.
Crearé un entorno que fomente la importancia del aprendizaje y una sólida ética de trabajo. Enseñaré y esperaré que todos los niños aprendan la importancia del respeto, la integridad, la compasión y el liderazgo. Mis estudiantes combinarán la importancia del aprendizaje con el valor de un carácter fuerte para convertirse en colaboradores en todas las áreas de sus vidas.
