In the play, he is depicted as a man battling both internal demons and external forces that threaten to consume him. • Annabel Lee:
  A figure representing Poe's idealized love, often associated with loss and the haunting beauty of his poetry. She appears as both an innocent young girl and a symbol of his torment, appearing in his life as a source of both joy and agony. 

• Captain Nimrod:
  A trickster figure who represents one of Poe's nightmares and embodies the darker, more sinister elements of his imagination. 

• Captain Reynolds:
  Poe's friend, who is also involved in the events that lead to Poe's final mystery.

A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hardheaded, naive, and emotional, but also kind hearted.
