Should AI be used in schools?

Here’s a good question, should we continue using AI? AI stands for Artificial Intelligence so it is pretty much a brain in a computer. So now that you know what AI is then we can get to the pros and cons. One pro for AI is “Through AI-powered platforms.” As the College Of Education says. “AI can create lessons, activities, assessments, discussion prompts, and presentations simply by providing a short prompt with keywords, College of Education,” TNW student Beowulf Laughlin-Koch says “I think it could be used for a lot of good things like, scientific research, solving diseases, etc. That would be pretty cool. But it is also harming education cause a lot of students use it and just aren’t thinking for themselves, but as long as it is used in a good way like solving through problems humans can’t. I think it can be good thing but it also comes with a lot of negatives.” says Beowulf.
Speaking of negatives, what are more cons of AI? Britannica states that “AI robots and other software and hardware are becoming less expensive and need none of the benefits and services required by human workers, such as sick days, lunch hours, bathroom breaks, health insurance, pay raises, promotions, and performance reviews, which spells trouble for workers and society at large.” So far it looks like AI can be really good, but it has some downsides. Anastasia Dale from TEACH-NW has an opinion on the topic.
“The harm could be we just simply just don't learn we have a program learn it for us and just tell us what to do instead of trying to learn it ourselves and almost anyone can use it which is the scary part and even if it could be funny in the meanwhile there is, well I’m not 100% about all the rumors and they’re rumors so take with a grain of salt but it’s like it can make you lose brain cells as you’re using it. We're trying to use AI but there's still some harm with it because of incidents with self-driving cars.” Another quote from a student. “People will just use AI for everything.” Only time will tell whether AI is good or bad.
