Woof woof woof! That’s “welcome” in dog (I think). Anyways, thank you for coming! I have interviewed students from around Oregon to bring to you some funny pet stories to make your day and remind you that life can be sweet, or in this case, fluffy!
Here is a story from story from Poppy Isaacs:
“Two weeks before Halloween, I was making Hazel a superhero costume—she was "Super Hazel"—and her costume was one of my old t-shirts, a cape that said Super Hazel, and a felt mask. Anyway, while she was trying it on so I could see if it fit, my dad opened the door to grab some eggs from our chicken coop and accidentally let Hazel escape. She ran outside with the costume still on! She went running into our fields (we live on a farm) and all around our neighborhood before going to her favorite house for treats. My mother called Kevin, one of our old neighbors, asking if he'd seen Hazel run by in a superhero costume, and he started laughing and said he had. My brother and I had to go find her and bring her home, and she was very happy and not humiliated at all.”
Super Hazel on the run!
Here are some funny dog facts from Montecito Pet Hospital! *1
Did you know that dogs sweat through their paws instead of their armpits? It also gives them better grip!
Just like the humans fingerprint is completely unique, did you know that dogs noses are also completely unique to the individual dog?
Lastly, yawns are contagious for dogs too! Just like they are for humans
Switching from dogs to cats, here’s a story from Maisy Clasby:
“Anakin our cat, he brought a dead mouse into our house, Lola our neighbor she picked it up and said “oh a toy mouse” she thought it was fake but it was actually real and she screamed, everyone was screaming and freaking out, my sister Jayden was sleeping on the couch and she woke up from all the screaming! Anakin was sitting on the stairs looking at all the commotion he caused!”
Another purr-fect story from Evelyn Fisher:
I have a cat, her name is Marshmallow.
A funny story is that she likes to watch out a window out the backyard and watch the squirrels/birds. She chatters a lot and makes a bunch of funny noises, sometimes she even bats at the window. We used to let her out to chase the squirrels, and one time she almost caught one (she kind of brushed her paw against the squirrel's tail just barely).
And last but not least, (but definitely grossest) a story from Gillian White:
“My cat, Honey, threw up off the edge of the counter and it splattered everywhere and I had to clean it up”
That is so gross,

Cats have 230 bones while humans only have 206?
Lastly male cats are most likely to be left-pawedleft-pawwed while female cats are more likely to be right-pawed!
