Stranger Things Final Season Review

The final season of Stranger Things stirred up a lot of talk among fans. Even though the season delivered emotional and exciting moments, it was not the perfect ending that everybody wanted. The show was first released in 2016. Viewer and fan Ayla Bruce said, “the final season was an 8 out of 10. The final season could have ended better, but I was happy about the happy ending.” One of the episodes that stood out the most was Episode 4, “Sorcerer.”, “My favorite episode was Sorcerer,  mainly because Max came back.” Max returns after being stuck in Henry’s, aka Vecna’s, mind for two years. Max brought a new emotional impact and it was a major moment for fans who had been waiting to see what would happen to her character after being in a long coma in a past season,”says Ayla. When I asked Ayla about her favorite characters in the new season, Ayla stated, “my favorite characters are Max, Robin, and Mike." 

They all played a big role in the Stranger Things' final season, because they brought different ideas to the group. Mike mainly acted as the emotional support guy to characters like Will. 

Robin incorporated her dark humor and intelligence into the series.  Max brought strength, and she helped Holly escape Henry’s mind the first time. In my opinion,the season had its ups and downs. Some viewers said storylines felt a little rushed or underdeveloped, especially when it came to characters like Dustin and El. "I would change Dustin and his storyline, and I would change El’s ending.”says Ayla., “I would change it to El coming back and finding Mike in real life.”  Ayla says she feels that this would have made the ending feel more complete, sinceSince it was kind of left on the viewer to decide the ending of the story.

Netflix also changed the way it released the final episode. Typically, the entire season is released at once but this time they released the final season in three parts, ending with a longer final episode on New Year’s Eve. This kept fans entertained and talking about Will’s powers and about the show over a span of time. After the final episode was released, Netflix released a behind the scenes documentary that came out on January 12th. This documentary shows the final season titled, One Last Adventure, giving viewers insights about how they came up with the final season. Even though the series has ended, many fans still believe the story may not be over. Online discussion continued for about a week after the finale episode was released with viewers hoping for another episode or future project connected to Stranger Things. Part of the reason is that they felt the show wasn't unfinished. There were also clues in the show that seemed to hint at a future episode. In the end, viewers should be grateful for the amazing work of these actresses, actors, writers, and directors. Even if the final season of Stranger Things may not have been the most perfect, it still served as a meaningful ending to a show that has been part of many people’s lives for 10 years. Sadly, the series is now over and the show has come a long way with many of the cast members spending years of their lives growing up on the set.
