Teach-NW Winter Semi Formal Dance
By Kaleel Grantham
Who doesn’t love a fun school dance? TEACH-NW is hosting their first ever high school dance, complete with various food, great music, amazing decorations, and fun games, just to name a few. Tickets are currently for sale for only$10/person/. Students can also bring a friend, who may not currently attend TEACH-NW with a purchase of another ticket.
Evan Staton,TEACH-NW student council president, is working with his student council team to put on this event “This dance is going to be a super fun way to socialize and meet new people, but most of all, dance! We're going to have a wide variety of music, and will have a table dedicated to taking suggestions, so think of some good music! We will also have a photo booth, so make sure you have some fun faces to take photos with,”says Evan.
So why should students go to this dance? “This is going to be a great way to socialize and meet new people. You can look forward to meeting most of the Student Council members, officers, and advisors who made this dance possible. We will have great food and drink, board games if you want to take a break, and a nice dance floor, with good music and great decorations!” says Evan. Students of TEACH-NW-NW don’t always have the opportunity to socialize with other students since it’s a virtual homeschool program. Events like these allow students to meet others in a fun and safe environment.
This dance is meant to bring students together in a fun and engaging way. Many students are scattered around the state. This dance will be a fun way for students to interact with each other and meet in person instead of virtually.
“The goal of the dance is to further ties between students in our school, and provide a positive experience for students. The Student Council wants to provide, and continue to provide new and exciting ways for students to meet each other, learn new things, and have fun!” says Evan.“Who knows, you could meet your new best friend at this dance!”
The dance also gives the student council team the ability to grow their leadership skills and develop different traits such as problem solving, communication, management, and event planning. “I think for me the most exciting part has been watching the Student Council members grow and develop skills and continue to further their ability to lead and plan events. It has been truly amazing to see everyone grow and change through this year's challenges!”, Evan added.
As a member of the student council, we look forward to seeing everyone at the dance, so get your tickets now. The Winter Semi Formal dance will take place in Albany on Saturday, January 31st at 5:00PM Sign up and buy your tickets now using the link on the flyer.
