By Josiah Stromberg
Have you ever had a day in summer where you are just sitting around wishing that there was something to do? I have a solution, it's called fishing. You have probably heard about it, maybe even gone a couple of times. Fishing is one of earth's simplest concepts ever, But If you have not gone fishing then you are missing out. You may not know how to fish or maybe you don’t have a place to go fishing. In this article I will make sure that you know the main tactics and tips of fishing ( This is targeted on bass fishing but most tips can be used with any kind of fishing.).
Supplies
One of the most important things about fishing is having the right equipment. Fishing rods are essential ( Afterall you can’t fish without a rod) I suggest a Shakespeare button cast if you are a beginner then after fishing a couple of times you can graduate to open bail. Hooks and bait, bait and hooks is what makes the magic happen. You need good bait. I myself use zoom stick bait ( stick bait is bait that has no structure made completely of rubber, and is mostly made to look like worms.) Live bait is really good for beginners because it works well, you can get some live bait at a baitshop or walmart.
Tying On
Another essential thing about fishing is knowing your knots. The first knot you need to know is the traditional fishing knot .
The second knot that you need to know is the double fishing knot . This knot helps with putting a new fishing line on your pole.
Casting
When going fishing you need to know how to cast. Here's how. 1 The first step is to flip the bail(B2) , put your pointing finger, take the line and pinch it against the rod (B1).
Tilt your rod back to where it's level with your ear. Then fling your rod forward, let go of the line and watch the bait go through the air.
By now you will hopefully know all the basics of fishing. Here are some good fishing spots in the Umpqua valley area. 1. Gazley road exit 102 on the I5. Galesville reservoir exit 88 (chief Miwaleta park.
