The auditorium is an amazing place to host your class for a variety of events like: performances, movies and videos, spoken presentations, and so many more. If the WHCI auditorium is a place you would like to use for an upcoming event, you will first need to book this venue through the Permits Department of the Toronto District School Board.
Once approved, you will be provided with 2 stage crew personnel and the equipment/space in the auditorium. By filling out the Auditorium Bookings form, this allows the Stage Crew Director, Ms. Jankul-Tavchar, to staff your event appropriately.
NOTE: Please be aware that while we have 2 moving spots, this requires additional personnel, over and above the 2 crew members included in the cost of the permit. This request must first be sent through the Permits Department, so that the increased cost of personnel (1 per spotlight) can be added to your invoice. Outside personnel are not allowed to use the WH Auditorium equipment, on the WHCI stage crew may work the on-site equipment.
After requesting Stage Crew personnel, you will need to fill out a Performance & Lighting forms for each of the numbers/dances/acts in your performance.
This Form includes important information that every act must fill out and submit. For example:
What video/music file is being played for your performance and what the file name is so we can match up properly.
Is there talking at the same time as the media is being played? Where is the speaker standing? Do you need light on the speaker?
The name of the contact person that will be present at the dress rehearsal/event in case of questions from crew.
Whether you need simple lights (white stage, or light the pit, or only podium light, etc.) or something more complex (anything more than 1 cue is considered complex).
All lighting cues needed (maximum 5 cue per performance number/act)
These forms must be submitted a minimum of 5 business days before your event, so that stage crew has a chance to review cues prior to your arrival.
