Social Media Math Animations

By grade 12 students from Wexford CSA

Social media are interactive technologies that allow for the creation and sharing of information, ideas and other forms of expression by using virtual communities. There are approximately 3.5 billion social media users and half a million tweets & Snapchat photos every minute.

We are a group of high school students who as part of our math culminating project reflected on how social media affects privacy, relationships, mental health, education, the world of work, wellbeing, climate action and other global goals. We looked at positive and negative impacts of social media.

We used our knowledge of math and technology to create an animated design inspired by our reflections on social media. Each design includes a message on creating a positive digital footprint.
