Message:

Students obsession over social media has gone too far, that they are unable to separate themselves when studying for major exams, tests, and also when completing projects or homework. This behaviour leads to them facing minor consequences such as falling behind in class which leads to larger consequences such as failing classes drawing them back from their success in their educational studies and future goals. Students must learn how to balance social media use, to ensure that it does not impair their studies.

Climate change is a major issue that is impacting and is continuing to impact our world today. The only way to bring about awareness of such an issue is through social media. The only way to bring about a positive digital footprint is through spreading the news globally of the planet we are destroying and coming together to figure out ways to make a change, such as investing in low-carbon development.

Message:

Always remember to take time outside of what goes on in your social networks and try to build real relationships with people. Participate in physical activities, join social clubs, seek professional help when struggling with something instead of searching for questions online which can mislead you, spread kindness amongst your peers and remember who you really are. Don’t ever force yourself to be something you’re not.

Message:

Be who you are, never change just to fit into social media norms. As long as you use social media lightly and don't let it take over your life, you can insure a positive digital footprint. My desmos image is a man in a river going fishing. But rather than catching fish, he is fishing for likes, which is a common addiction people have. The constant competition for more likes on social media makes people do desperate things just for likes, creating a toxic digital footprint.

I designed a person lost in his phone trapped behind bars with his hair on fire to symbolize someone addicted to social media. Habits never really go away. Every time you repeat a similar activity, your brain re-enforces that neural pathway. That, coupled with the fact that social media provides dopamine and plays such a prevalent role in our lives, makes it even harder to stop. Despite his addiction, the character I designed remains content in the animation because he enjoys his distraction and imprisonment provided to him by the phone.

Overuse of social media, and the phone in general, can lead to damage towards a person’s mental health. It may only affect you little by little but over time, even the toughest of us will be negatively affected by social media. My advice to anyone joining social media for the first time is, first and foremost, don’t post negative comments on someone’s post and to attempt and level of cyberbullying or harassment. Secondly, try not to be dishonest in the portrayal of your life , but also, don’t post any personal or sensitive information. Right now you may think it’s alright, but in the future you don’t know what you want out there.

Everyone has been through what you’re going through, and we all understand how painful it may be. But there’s always someone who can help you, so just power through whatever is affecting you as its gonna turn out just fine, I promise you! If you know someone whos being bullied on social media or you’re the one being bullied don’t be afraid to ask to talk to someone, or for help, or even talk to a teacher, parent or someone who can make a difference. You not only could be helping this person get back in the right mental state, but your possibly saving a person’s life and that is just incredible.

Message:

Social media can create a real negative impact upon their sense of self-worth, confidence and wellbeing. Try and remember that anyone has the ability to skew their perception online, and all of it is for an ulterior motive. Actions that can be taken in order to relay a positive digital footprint would be to be your most genuine self, online and offline. It starts within yourself and who you believe you truly are, staying true to yourself as a young woman is the most effective action you can take.

My design shows a teenager trying to make a difference. She planted her first tree and flower as it has a huge impact on the environment. As it is raining, she still took the selfie because she is so committed to the project. Posting that picture can inspire others to do the same thing. One by one, we can make a difference and help save the Earth. Social media is an effective and simple way of spreading the achievements.

The more people hide all their flaws in order to put on a mask of someone more perfect, the more people think that it isn't normal to show flaws when it's the thing that makes us human, and when enough people think like this it has the possibility to evolve and move past just social media and into the real world making people think that who they are and what makes them different from every other instagram user isn't important, that the opinion of some stranger they knew for a few weeks in more important than anything else.

Message:

Excessive use of Social Media can strain our eyes and harm our brain and cause many issues such as pressure on eyes, headaches, restlessness, and even problematic use. A solution to this is to go outside in nature and enjoy the real world rather than being stuck on your phone. Instead of being stuck on your phone/social media, go outside and enjoy what life really has to offer.

Message:

People shouldn’t use social media to spread negativity because we could affect people a lot by the things we say and that we should use it to spread positivity and support each other, for example, posting positive things, and promoting someone's business. Also, another piece of advice from my design is that we shouldn’t be on social media too much and that we should have a break now and then because of how social media really affects us mentally and emotionally.
