Entrance Scholarships - are monetary awards given to students that demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and/or extracurricular involvement. Some entrance scholarships require students to apply, but many are awarded automatically based on the student's admission average. Ontario Universities Info - this site contains all information for Ontario Universities, programs and scholarships
Ontario Colleges - this site contains just some of the awards available to Ontario college Canadian applicants and students. For access to even more awards, check out each college's financial aid page and relevant external website resources
Student Awards (across Canada) - contains scholarship information for colleges and universities across Canada
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Scholarships - some universities have awards, scholarships & credit incentives available to students who have successfully graduated with a red seal diploma. External Scholarships - there are many opportunities and eligibility criteria for external scholarships (that don't require a school nomination). Here are some resources to check out:
Yconic: Site provides information on scholarships that fits your profile. It provides scholarship, bursary and financial aid information.
Student Scholarships: Students can create a profile and receive updates based on their criteria.
BFCN Scholarship Program: A scholarship program designed to address a few of the gaps and barriers in order to increase access to post-secondary education and support Black students and their families.
Jobs People Do - Scholarship Column: A one stop career resource for students.
Student Awards: A database of student awards and scholarships.
ScholarTree: Create a profile and search for scholarships
Scholarships Canada -a database of scholarships, student awards and bursaries from across Canada.
Disability Awards - created by the National Educational Association for disabled students, this site helps students find scholarships specific to their disability (learning, physical, mental health) and/or province.
The Scholarship Report Library: A publication that we subscribe to and is password protected. Our password is shared in the Principal's Weekly Newsletter in the section Worth Repeating - Scholarship Information.
The Scholarship & Trades Report provides helpful information as your child prepares for postsecondary education, such as application tips, advice from experts, campus Open House Schedules, career resources, and how to fund post-secondary education. There are also a number of informational videos that are part of our subscription.

International Scholarships - Thinking of studying outside of Canada? Check out these resources!
Study Abroad Scholarship: Several scholarships available to use toward the expenses of their program such as travel, course, credits, books and lodging.
Scholars4dev: an updated listing of scholarships for international students, specifically for people from developing countries, who would like to pursue development-related fields, and who seek global and national development through further education.
EduCanada: International scholarships offered by Canadian governments, foreign governments, non-governmental organizations and international organizations for international students studying in Canada or Canadian students looking to fund their studies abroad.

Internal School Scholarships are bursaries and awards that are offered exclusively to Garneau graduating students. These awards are offered through the generosity of the Overlea/MGCI Alumni, individual donors and community organizations. There is over $75,000 of awards available for our students.

The Mahvish Jafri Award of Excellence

This scholarship is dedicated to Mahvish Jafri, an alumni of Marc Garneau C.I., whose unwavering commitment to education and pursuit of excellence inspired everyone around her. The scholarship is designed to recognize and support high school students who have demonstrated exceptional involvement in their communities and achieved academic excellence. It aims to encourage students to continue their education at the post-secondary level and to further their contributions to society.
