At Greenwood Secondary School, students develop their English language skills through the study of science. Through observation, inquiry, exploration, and experimentation, they gain a deeper understanding of the natural world while building academic language proficiency. Our science teachers work closely with the English and Guidance departments to support student success and ensure they are well prepared for university-level science, technology, and other post-secondary pathways. Science courses provide rich opportunities for students to develop essential STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills and make meaningful connections that enhance their understanding of the world around them.
Students learn about energy, electricity, light, sound, and forces, and how they affect everyday life.
Students learn about Earth, space, weather, climate, and how natural systems affect our lives.
