Swim Team 2026

Ms. Van Gent, Mr. Carroll and Mr. Malczewski will be running the swim team this year. All Falcons in grade 4-6 are welcome to join the team. Attendance at practice is very important. Please email Ms. Van Gent if you are going to be away. 

The team will train from January to March. In April they will take part in a swim meet and possibly the city final. 

Swim Test

All students will have to pass a swim test to qualify for the team. More information about the test will be shared with the team in the future.

EMA Permission form

All swimmers must have a completed EMA permission form in order to swim at practice and be on the team. Please use this link https://parent.ema.tdsb.on.ca/

Practice information:

Students need to arrive between 7:15am-7:20am to get changed and ready. The front door of the school will be open. 7:30am-8:30am students will be training in the pool. 8:30am-8:45am students will get ready for the school day and wait in the school lobby until the bell rings.

Our first Practice is on Thursday Jan 8th.

Sports Conflict in the AM with Basketball or Volleyball

If your Falcon is also doing basketball or Volleyball. On a swim morning they are expected to go to swim and miss the other sport.

Swim Team for 2023

The swim team has been posted outside of the Frankland Gym. All indivdual events and relay events have been posted. Students who are not on the list are still welcome to come to the swim meet on April 13th to cheer on their teammates.

Swim Dates:  The First swim meet in on April 13, 2023. ***Due to lack of space at the event, not spectators are allowed at the first swim meet. 

The City Final: Wednesday April 19th in the City Final.  This event is for students and teams that qualify from the first meet.

16 Falcons moving to the city finals is great news. Congratulations!!! Huge accomplishment! All the details for Thursday April 11 are posted below.

Plan for the Day: Thursday April 11

8:45am - Arrival at Frankland for a regular school morning.

10:10 – Students meet in the front of the school to eat a health snack/mini lunch during morning recess.

10:30 - Departure from Frankland by TTC.

11:45 – Warm up in the pool at Rosedale.

12:00-12:30 - Meet starts.

3:00 – Depart from Rosedale for Frankland.

3:45- 4:00pm Arrive back at Frankland for pick up.

All Swim Team Members should bring a lunch that they can eat in 2 parts because the first meal will be at 10:10 and the second will be after 2pm. Have a BIG breakfast that morning. We will provide space and supervision at school for the snack/lunch before we leave frankland. The second meal will happen as students finish their swim. Students will then return to Frankland for pick up. 

All students are reminded to bring the following: 

- Bathing suit

- Towel

- Large Garbage bag (to store belongings)

- Water bottle and snack

April 1-5

• Junior swim practice on Wednesday at 7:50am. No swim practice on Friday.

• Good luck to the Junior swim team who will be making a big splash on Thursday at the Harbour Swim meet. All swim meet details are posted below.

MAR 25-29

• Junior swim team practice on Wednesday and Friday morning at 7:50am.

Mar 4-8

• No swim practice on Wednesday or Friday. All junior swimmers will continue practice after march break

• Junior Swim meet at Hillcrest in on Tuesday. All swim details are posted below.

Feb 25-Mar 1

• Junior Swim Team continues to practice on Wednesday and Friday at 7:50am for all students in grade 4-6. (Permission forms at due this week.)

Junior Swim Team continues to practice on Wednesday for all students in grade 4-6. No practice on Friday because of the family day weekend.

Junior Swim Team

The Junior Swim Team Permission Form is now posted under the forms and docs banner. Mr. Mariano and Mr. Molina will also hand out paper copies. All grade 4 , 5 and 6 students are welcome. The first practice will be on Wednesday January 16, 2019 at 7:50. All other practice sessions will be on Wednesday and Friday Mornings.

Hillcrest PS Swim Meet Details: December 6th

8am - Arrival at Frankland

8:15 - Departure from Frankland by TTC

9:45 – Warm up in pool at Hillcrest

10-10:15 - Meet Starts

12:00 – Depart from Hillcrest for Frankand. (Supervised Lunch on Return)

All Swim Team Members should bring a lunch to school on Thursday Dec 6th. We will provide space and supervision at school for the lunch following our return to Frankalnd. Students will then return to class. 

All students are reminded to bring the following:

• Primary Swim Team Gr.2-3) continues practice this week on Monday and Wednesday from 7:45am - 8:35am. Practice on Friday is optional. We are 3 weeks away from the Swim meet. 

Primary Swim Team 2018

The Primary Swim team begins on Monday November 5th. Students can pick up a form from Mr. Mariano in swim class. You can print off the form under the forms and docs banner. **All students in grade 2 and 3 are welcome.  Students who come to enough practices and qualify will have a chance to take part in a primary swim meet.

Practice information:

The Team practices every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings from 7:45-8:35am. Friday practice is optional.
