No. Students only need to apply to high schools that are out of their home school area. All Specialized Programs are considered Optional Attendance.
Students may apply to 2 Specialized Programs and 2 Regular Programs within the TDSB. Applications to the Catholic Board or York Region do not count as TDSB applications.
Students are able to apply to regular programs for OA once the list of closed/limited schools comes out, usually the second week back in January. The list will be published on this website in the TDSB High Schools section.
The current grade 8 CyberARTS students transition to grade 9 without re-applying. BUT all specialized programming requires an Optional attendance form to be completed and submitted.
All students should go to the open house for their home school because that is the school they will attend in the event that they are not accepted elsewhere. Students should go to any open houses for schools that have a program they want to find out more about.
Ask a trusted friend or family member to go for you and take notes. You would go to the open house that is your first choice.
