BIM Course Features
The new era of information technology has brought significant changes to the global civil engineering and construction industry, and one of the most popular construction technologies is Building Information Modelling (BIM), which is known as Construction Industry 4.0 in the engineering industry. BIM is a new type of operation, whose model can be loaded with information (e.g. building material attributes, manufacturers, contact methods, unit price and cost), with a visualization interface that allows the construction process to be shown in 4D dimension (space + time) or 5D dimension (4D + cost).
The Department of Architecture has set up a BIM classroom for architectural creativity and information modeling to cultivate skills and practical operation abilities in the civil engineering and architecture related skills industry. Through the training and practice, students will acquire and improve their professional competence. Besides, by taking part in some relevant competitions, students will enhance their skills and have substantive employability, and to be able to take up jobs in the civil engineering and architecture fields related to basic creative design skills, architectural professional drawing and BIM digital information utilization.
BIM technology is in line with the trend of industrial development and can meet the current talent gap in the industry, both academia and industry have attached great importance to this profession. It has been eight years since our school developed the BIM technology course in 2014, and we have accumulated rich experience in teaching materials and courses, and our performance in the BIM category of the National Skills Competition has been recognized, so we believe that the course will bring fruitful professional growth to our students.
Awards in International Competitions
The curriculums of TCVS are meant to enhance students' professional skills. Students will acquire relevant professional knowledge. Through courses of internship, students will be involved in practical experience and acquire skills corresponding with the needs of the industry. Besides curriculums, students are encouraged to actively participate in various competitions. Through constant training and practice, students have achieved many spectacular results in many international competitions.
