Introduction
This project allows students to participate in engineering a desired design. Students are task to build a launcher that would launch a ping pong ball 10 feet away, testing the model's accuracy, precision, and consistency. By coming up with an original design, and building it in real life, students could learn upon their mistakes and come up with a better invention. This project additionally introduces the use of tools and bring an idea and a model to life. All 3D modeling are done by using Sketchup.
Me and my partner, Annabella thought of a unique design that many people would not thought of. By combining our ideas together, we built an open launcher that is powered by 2 spring that pushed a wooden block, which acts as an action force to launch the ball forward. Unlike other designs, this launcher launches the ball not in an enclosed space but an open site and is split into many parts.
