Students are tasked to come up with an original Craftsman Lighting design that was inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement. The students first research old lightings and then they would come up with a 3D design on Solidworks. Students would face and learn and experience the rendering process and be judged by those in the professional field.
For my design, I wanted it to be unique from a lot of the Craftsman Lighting design and pull out something intriguing and wild. My concept for my sconce was seasons and wilderness; the ideal lamp to put in Cabin houses outdoors. My end result of materials and coloring may have strayed from the Arts and Crafts Movement idea as it does look a little modern for old times. Nevertheless, this helped me push my limits and introduce me to the rendering process of combining/fitting a model into a realistically looking environment.
