Students are tasked to re-engineer, reverse engineer, or create from scratch of a unique mechanical pencil by created from Solidworks. Students are allowed to improve from a previous design or existing models.
The mechanical pencil would additionally later rendered in an appropriate manner.
I decided to improve on a previous design from Ahmed Salama. My targeted audience for this pencil is directed towards elementary school kids who is deciding to switch from the traditional wooden pencil to a mechanical one. This pencil's purpose is to increase their attention span and have them able to do more work in one sitting. If more kids began to see this unique design, their peers might also want to have it so the production rate would increase. The materials are also made to be kid-friendly. Although I wish to make the entirety of it, there wasn't enough time for me to able to do so. However, I do believe it was much fun to see what Solidworks could do and this inspired me to keep learning about 3D CAD designing.
