Google Earth

Google Earth is an extremely powerful application that allows users to travel the world through a virtual globe and view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, and much more. Teachers are breaking down the barriers of classroom walls and using Google Earth to take students all over the world.

Google Earth Information

Google Lit Trips are downloadable files that mark the journeys of characters from famous literature on the surface of Google Earth. Along the way, placemarks with pop-up windows contain "just in time" resources including relevant media, thought-provoking discussion starters, and links to supplementary information about "real world" references in that portion of the story. Their focus is on creating engaging and relevant interactive literary experiences for students.
