Our program includes a full auto shop with a variety of vehicles specially designated for training automotive technician students.
A previous career in training apprentice technicians and overseeing licensed technicians gives Mr. Caputo over 20 years of experience teaching students in the automotive industry.
Mr. Caputo says, "From Exotics to ridiculously high-end Luxury vehicles, to race cars and everything in between, I've repaired and maintained a little bit of everything."
He whole-heartedly believes that, "You do not need to have a mechanical aptitude to succeed. You just need to try."
A. Yes, many of our students have gone on to have their own businesses. A few have become professors in automotive technology, or even transferred their knowledge to other industries such as plumbing, welding, and electricity. One St. Joan of Arc graduate even became a quality control engineer. Many students also find work in automotive shops in the GTA.
A. It is hands-on 70%. The 30% bookwork is linked to hands-on experience.
A. No fees.
A. There is not just one straight path to get to university. There are many branches and many ways to get to this goal. I have students who went down the trade path and later completed their university degree as a mature student.
A. This is a fantastic program that allows us to connect students to apprenticeship programs while they are still in high school. We have also been working with the CITI Motive Power Apprenticeship Program for many years in partnership with Centennial College.
A. Absolutely, we need girls to go into this program. We have even had competition winners who are girls.
