Workshop
“Man up! Grown men don’t cry. Shut up and dribble” If these phrases sound familiar to you, you have probably experienced the effects of negative male stereotypes crippling young Black men of today. As a result, our Black men have built up walls around them, protecting them from the harsh realities of the world and indirectly blocking opportunities for growth. In this workshop we analyze Black Male Vulnerability as an awareness tool. With a lens of awareness, through the Kwanzaa principle of “Imani” Faith, we de-construct Black male vulnerabilities and discuss how being vulnerable can lead to endless possibilities of developing character, strength and reflecting your higher self as young Black men in Canada.

Do you find yourself struggling to find your God-given purpose in life? If so, you’re not alone. In this workshop, you will see ways young Black males encounter God in their everyday lives; you will learn about the importance of the Word and prayer and discuss young Black artists who use faith in their work.
