Social-Emotional Check-Ins

A daily feelings check-in helps them learn to recognize different emotions and also the intensity of emotions. We can't manage a feeling if we can't recognize it. By naming our feelings, we normalize them. We aren't always supposed to be happy or calm. Sometimes we are sad or jealous or angry. When we do daily feelings check-ins we recognize that all feelings are okay. It can then open up the conversation that how we handle those feelings makes all the difference. Positive Self-Talk

Positive thinking is a powerful tool that can improve your health, help you manage stress, overcome challenges, and make better choices. Everyone can benefit from improving their positive thinking skills!

The idea is that by changing your thinking, you can control your emotions and your actions. Positive thinking skills often start with positive-self talk, which means using the voice in your head to say positive thoughts about yourself or a situation. Affirmations are an excellent way to provide positive self-talk. Click here for some positive self talk prompts!
