In just less than 40 years, DECA Ontario has grown to be the 2nd largest DECA association in the world! In this time, we have built our networks of members, alumni, educators, school administrators, and business professionals, creating a community of growth and mentorship.

Hello everyone, my name is Adriel De Vera, and I am the president of Mary Ward’s DECA Chapter for 2020-2021. DECA has been a highlight of my time in high school as I have learned more about myself, and have been able to grow into the individual that I am today. DECA has provided experiences and memories that I will always cherish. I most recently competed in Human Resources Management, and I competed in Sports Entertainment Marketing before that. Even with COVID-19, the determined executive team and I were able to jumpstart the club and transform it to an online platform for students to join. With these new circumstances, I am excited for what this year will bring. I guarantee that the executives next year will be just as tenacious and successful! If you’re interested in making awesome high school memories, I seriously recommend that you join our DECA family when you come to Ward :)

Our very own Andy Feng (Gr. 11) has been a part of DECA@Ward since grade 9 and has established quite the Mary Ward record for having competed at the Regional, Provincial, and the penultimate International competition (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida during his very first year in DECA. He competed in the Principles of Finance event. In grade 10, he returned to compete in the Financial Literacy Category, once again succeeding and making it back to Internationals. With his outstanding record, Andy was well suited to take on the role of Provincial Executive Officer for DECA Ontario, now working as their Media Coordinator. Working closely alongside Chapter President Adriel De Vera, Andy assumed the role of Vice President for DECA@Ward this year and now shares his training experience as well as his leadership skills with our members.
