CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION COURSES:
Subject-Related - connected to a specific in-school subject (ie. Accounting, Biology, Law). Co-op assignments are linked to subject area and focus is on making a connection with curriculum taught in-school.
DCO 3O2 - Creating Opportunities Through Co-op - This course consists of a learning experience connected to a community and co-op curriculum focused on developing skills, knowledge, and habits of mind that will support students in their learning, including their education and career/life planning, at school and beyond, today and in the future.
OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) - students applying to the trades (ie. Cook/Chef, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Child Development Practitioner, etc.)
Accelerated OYAP - programs offer graduating students the opportunity to work as an apprentice and complete Level 1 (Basic) apprenticeship training, while completing their high school requirements.
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Program - all students enrolled in a SHSM program (ie. Business, Construction, STEAM, Sports or Health & Wellness) must complete a 2 credit Co-op in order to successfully complete the program. The credits may either be Subject-Related or DCO.
School-Work Transition Programs - Students who plan to go directly into the workplace after high school are best suited for this type of program.
